Hilary Adler, Esq.
Vice President
Hilary joined HWC in 1998, and has been instrumental in its growth. In addition to providing training services, HWC is a legal research center. Hilary is an attorney and an expert in the law governing the use of restraint. She has written or assisted in the writing of numerous commentaries submitted to both Federal and State Legislators, and has been instrumental in educating lawmakers and users of restraint in the laws governing restraint. Her comments and legal analyses have been instrumental in guiding legislation at the Federal and State level. HWC's blog features an overview of the laws on restraint usage generally and in specific areas including Healthcare, Schools, Developmental Disabilities, Juvenile Justice. There is also a legislation section where we provide a synopsis and legal citations of laws governing restraint at the Federal and State level. On a personal note, Hilary was born and raised in NYC. On occasion you can find her inline skating or walking through Central Park. She loves to offer tourist information of where to go and what to see in NYC. She is an Alumni of Hunter College High School (4-10) and Horace Mann High School (11-12), University of California and Brooklyn Law School. In her spare time, Hilary can be found taking, studying and teaching yoga, playing with her dogs and being out in nature.
